Married: Heather and Brian 11.7.09

♥ This is my final wedding for 2009 – unless I get a surprise one before the end of the year!

♥ Heather ironically found me via a comment I left on a photo of her reception location on Flickr. It always surprises me how people find me!

♥ I have to say that I loved this wedding a lot. The cutest church. The coolest get-away car. A couple that is willing to climb a tree for pictures. It was such a great way to end another amazing year of business.

♥ I wasn’t able to take pictures during the ceremony which was a first for me. It was nice though to enjoy the ceremony without worrying about capturing it.

♥ My husband, Chris, was my second shooter and he did a great job!

♥ This wedding spawned two new obsessions. I am obsessed with her maid of honor’s dress and if anyone can find me a link to this dress, you win a free portrait session from me. No joke. I also became obsessed with the perfume that the maid of honor let Heather borrow for the day of her wedding, Pacifica Waikiki Pikake. I came home and ordered it that night. I have it and LOVE LOVE LOVE it and want all of the scents now because of how awesome this one is.

♥ Please COMMENT – I will be donating one can of food to the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank for each comment received through December 15th! More info here.

bride at salon
Brides I’m going to warn you of this right now, days of weddings rarely go as planned – especially when time lines are concerned. When I arrived at the B&B where Heather was getting ready, she was still at the salon and her hair had just been started and they were about an hour behind. Since I had the location of the salon in her questionnaire, I headed off to the salon and surprised Heather by showing up there. I didn’t feel right just hanging about while she wasn’t too far away getting beautified! I’m glad that I went because I love documenting the entire transformation of the bride from everyday beautiful to wedding day stunning!

detail of shoes
This window just SCREAMED “shoe shot” to me.

getaway car
Chris got this neat shot of the awesome getaway car through the church door.

maid of honor
I loovveeee this dress.

bride crying
Another shot that Chris captured that I loved of Heather moments before she walked down the aisle.

bride walking down aisle

groom crying
I’m glad I was able to capture this moment before I had to stop taking pictures.

bride and groom embrace
While the first kiss is always important, I typically love the embrace that happens after it just a bit more.

group reflection in car hood
Another fun image from Chris of me shooting an entire group shot of Heather & Brian and their guests in front of the church.

bride hugging brother
Heather giving a heartfelt hug to her brother… she started crying as soon as she saw him. I love moments like these (especially when I’m in the right place at the right time!).

bride and groom exit
By far the coolest getaway car of the year! This is the groom’s uncle’s car.

bride and groom kiss in car
They had to pull over part way down the road to put the top up so Heather’s hair didn’t get messed up and I was lucky enough to be behind them so I raced up and got a shot of them kissing before they put the top up!

bride and groom walking
The comment I left on flickr was on a picture at this exact spot of the farm so it’s only appropriate that I took a shot there!

bride and groom in garden
Even though the gardens were dead, this was still such a great location to shoot at!

bride and groom kissing in a tree
Heather and Brian sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!!

bride and groom walking

bride and groom dip
I love that Heather planned ahead and brought boots to take pictures in!! Aren’t they CUTE?!? And you had NO clue until now she was rockin’ these instead of heels!

bride and groom kissing
The light in the field behind the reception barn was magical. I love this shot SO much.

bridal party outside
The bridal party. I love that they had one person on each side – so did we! Sidenote that the Best Man could be a brother of my Father in Law. It was almost scary how much they looked alike and acted alike.

bride and groom
I loved the color of this bush and luckily there was a bench right in front of it!

groom kisses daughter
Brian’s daughter was teased by Michael Kelsey so afterwards Brian gave her a sweet kiss for being a good sport.

Married: Cathy & Brandon 10.17.09

♥ I’m behind on my blogging but I am finishing and catching up on all that was my crazy 2009 season. Lots of Proof Books and Albums are off to the printers though! WHEW!

♥ Ohio being Ohio, the weather changed just prior to their wedding date and up until the day before the weather people were calling for a chance of SNOW the day of their wedding. Luckily there was no snow but it was chilly.

♥ I absolutely ADORED the fall theme that Cathy created for their wedding. They even had my favorite, pumpkin pie, for dessert!!!

♥ iPhones are great things to carry on you the day of weddings. They help you get the “first dance” song when the DJ’s file is corrupted! Yay for technology and ♥ my iphone!

♥ The flower girl and ring bearer were so.precious!

♥ Did I mention they played in leaves? I was in photographer heaven.

♥ Thank you Cathy & Brandon for hiring me!!!!

I love when I get the chance to get the bride getting her makeup on, always makes for some of my favorite images of the day.

The other favorite image is the groom seeing the bride come down the aisle. Always such a lovely moment!

I really love bubble exits but this is the first time I have had a groom get a bubble in the eye! YOW!

All the ladies… don’t their dresses look lovely under the tree?

The gentleman!

Married: Jennifer & Todd 10.03.09

I like bullets so I’m going to roll with that until I get bored with them.

♥ Jennifer and Todd booked me quite a while ago so it seems as if I’ve been waiting for this wedding for eons.

♥ They had a bagpiper whom was pretty spectacular. I love bagpipes!

♥ Most of the details of their wedding were DIY but you would have NEVER guessed it by looking at it all, quite well done!!

♥ My favorite DIY element was the photographs of their dog, Chloe, that Todd took and they used for table numbers. A D O R A B L E!!!!!

♥ Jennifer took everything in stride the day of the wedding and never let any bumps – like an impromtu fair at her photo location – throw her.

♥ They continued the “unusual” cake trend I seemed to have been having by having cupcakes in lieu of a traditional cake. The best part of the night was watching all the kids staring down the cupcakes. They were DELICIOUS.

♥ Their band, Twist, was also amazing!

♥ Bubble Three Olives Vodka. Try it.

Married: Darlene + Carl 09.19.09

After Darlene and Carl’s engagement shoot, I knew that I was going to have some great images after their wedding and I was right! The whole day was a joy to shoot, perfect weather, wonderful setting and two perfect lovebirds! I adored all of the personal touches they had for their wedding – from the decorations they did themselves to the amazing and awesome ICE CREAM CAKE from Dairy Queen! Everything was picture perfect!
