Engaged: Ashley + Joe

♥ Ashley and Joe were my last engagement session of the year (well as we stand now!) and will be my first wedding of the year!

♥ This couple moved AND did an engagement session in the same day. Not only is this a feat because moving is EXHAUSTING but they seem to be the only couple I’ve ever met that were still getting along – AND lovey dovey – after a full day of moving. I’m in awe. They are just that kind of awesome. I don’t know about you guys but my husband and I have had some interesting fights when moving!

♥ They also looked amazingly magazine perfect for moving all day as well!!!

♥ As you can tell, I’m impressed with anyone that can be this together and fabulous the day of moving!

♥ Instead of a change of clothes, Ashley brought a change of shoes. She is definitely a kindred spirit!

♥ Look for these guys back to the blog in January!

Did I mention the fabulous that Ashley’s necklace was? STUNNING! Oh yeah, this picture is also pretty awesome too. :)

Ashley loved a shot I took of Rosanna and Jared during their engagement shoot in Maui so we recreated it.

There is a lot I COULD say… but her eyes say it all for me.

Day After Session: Carla & Craig

A couple months back, Carla and Craig had a beautiful wedding… but the problem is they ran out of time for pictures. It happens sadly more often than you think. However with Day After Sessions you can still have some great pictures of you in your fancy dress without all the stress of the day!!! I knew it was going to be a great day with Carla and Craig when upon walking up to our first location we saw the “A Christmas Carol” train from Disney! We didn’t go down and see it but it was so cool to randomly see downtown! After that we wandered around the city, hitting up spots that they had picked out prior to the shoot. I love when my clients have ideas of where they want to go and what their vision is!

Thanks again for having me along guys, it was a great time!!!!

Since the flowers are pretty much dead I didn’t feel TOO badly about having them sit in them…

Carla “caught” herself a husband!!! LOL! She did this all on her own… but it was pretty darned funny!

This is one shot that was on Craig’s “must have” list!

Just be glad you can’t SMELL where we were at! However the view was pretty much amazing!

Married: Deborah + Scott 07.04.09

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Deborah and Scott. The day was a great day for a holiday AND a wedding! I started off the day with Deborah and her family and bridesmaids at her house taking pics of everyone running around getting ready. We then headed off to St. Michael’s in Independence (what a city to get married in on the 4th eh??) for the beautiful ceremony. Rather than doing indoor family portraits, Deborah chose to do then outside a gazebo nearby – which made my trigger finger VERY happy because outdoor portraits are always so much better than indoors! After a quick stop at McDonalds (LOL!) the bridal party and I headed downtown for some shots before ending up at The Old Courthouse for the reception. I have never been to The Courthouse so I was completely floored by how STUNNING the location is! WOW! All that marble and detailing is just amazing!!

Have I mentioned how awesome Deborah is? Because she IS! She was her own florist, putting together all of the flowers for the bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. She also did all of her own decorating for both the church and the reception – majorly featuring feathers. I LOVED it and was stunned to hear she rocked it all on her own!

When I left the party was still going strong and it seemed to be a safe bet that they had a great night that went on far longer than I did!

Thanks to both of you for allowing me to be there for your special day!!!

Reception: The Old Courthouse

Deborah’s dress so was unique and stunning!!!

Rings on top of Deborah’s bouquet that she made!

Have I mentioned on this blog what a big reader I am? Well I am a HUGE reader and this book is one of my favorites… so I had to do a ring shot on it!

Deborah checking things out!

Final touches!

Showing off the awesome green J. Crew shoes.

I loved the varying colors of green that Deborah chose for the bridesmaid’s gowns.

The new Mr & Mrs!!!

Scott looking quite dapper!

Deborah looking beautiful!

They are so cute together!

The night before they had taken the “last single kiss” here so I had to take a “first married kiss” (well not really first first…) shot here as well!

This random guy with a bubble maker wandered by during our session in the park and provided some bubble ambiance!

Relaxed portrait of all of the bridesmaids!

Having a quiet moment in the shadows of Cleveland Browns Stadium. Scott did NOT dig this location idea being from Buffalo he’s a die-hard Bills fan.

A final pose before going to the reception!

Julia, Scott’s niece, did a great job of keeping the dance floor warm for when everyone else decided to dance!

View from the balcony of The Old Courthouse while the cocktail hour was going on.

The ostrich feather centerpieces that Deborah made – they are so beautiful!

Ring shot on one of the peacock feathers that were on the cake.

First dance!

Y-M-C-A!

Most of the day, you would never know it was the 4th of July but on the way out of The Old Courthouse I saw it lit up for the day, so I had to get a shot of it!

Thanks again!

Married: Jillian and Kevin 06.06.09

Jillian and Kevin were married this past Saturday in one of those weddings that you swear walked RIGHT off of a magazine spread! The outfits, the flowers, the lighting, the decorations and all the details made for one of the most stunning weddings I have ever seen! We started the day out at the salon and stayed until almost the last song and every moment was breathtaking and amazing! I also was so excited to be able to have two FULL hours with the bridal party to go to various locations in Downtown Cleveland to make some amazing pictures. I could not have asked for a better day – or wedding – to shoot! Jillian and Kevin have that easy love that is tender yet fun at the same time and SUCH a blast to shoot! I love when my grooms aren’t camera shy!

Thanks to both Jillian and Kevin for choosing me to capture your special day for you! Also extreme thanks to Lisa Christine Photography for being my amazing second shooter for the day!

Florist: Blooms by Plantscaping
Photo Booth: The Rad Booth
Reception: Springvale Ballroom

Jillian’s Mom stopped by the salon to wish her daughter luck!

Heidzillas stopped by to bring breakfast and mimosas!

Even though she was a bit nervous, Jillian managed to laugh quite a lot!

My second shooter Lisa headed over to where the guys were getting ready and was pretty shocked to see this when she got into the room! Like any good photographer, she took a picture and dropped her jaw later! I heard about this quite a few times throughout the day – from the groom, the groomsman that did this and from Lisa. The picture made me laugh a lot when editing!

Jillian’s friend lent her the something borrowed, something old and something blue in one ring – her friends great-great grandmother’s blue diamond ring. Isn’t it STUNNING? Of course I had to take a detail shot of it!

I love the makeup part of the day… doesn’t she look amazing??

Jillian’s amazing gown!

Remember when I mentioned that I love getting this shot at the rehearsal? I was lucky to get it again the day of the wedding!

Lisa got this fun shot of them about to leave the church!

The official leaving – after the family formals at the altar.

This place wasn’t in our ‘route’ but the limo driver swore by this location for its views – I have to agree the the skyline is gorgeous from here!

A quick stop at Whisky Island/Wendy Park with the bridal party.

I think my favorite shot of the day… might have something to do with the shoes!

One of the few shots that the bride requested be done of her and the groom. She had a picture she sent and I tried to recreate it for her… I think it worked?

After I had some groomsman drop a groom I’ve stopped even MENTIONING this pose, however these guys were sturdy looking and were begging to do it… and this is the result. I was cracking up!

They did this unprompted!

While I was off doing shots with the bridal party, Lisa was back at Springvale Ballroom getting some amazing shots of the ballroom before the guests arrived.

A kiss after the toasts.

The first dance.

One of my favorite bouquet toss pictures ever :)

The guys were almost as feisty as the girls!

I loved that Jillian wasn’t afraid to put on her dancing shoes and really party after all the formalities were over with. You have to give mad props to a gal who can dance in heels (no flip flops for this bride!), in a gown and still have these moves!!! She’s closer to the floor than anyone else out there!!! *high fives*

Thanks again for such a wonderful day and for having me along!!!!!
