Hawaii Day One: Rosanna and Jared

I am so glad to be finally catching up on my blog!

From December 7th – December 13th I went to Maui for a workshop with the amazing Mike Colon.  It was a 4 day intensive workshop with 3 shoots and the class was limited to 10 people.  I had been toying with the idea to go but didn’t know if I could work it due to the wedding the day before but I ended up biting the bullet and going (and pulling an all nighter after the wedding!).  I am so glad that I went!  It was an amazing experience!  Mike rented out a GORGEOUS house where most of the attendees stayed (I stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Ka’anapali) where they not only had amazing views of the water but a personal chef!  I got to partake in some food during class and he was amazing!

The first day we did an engagement shoot in downtown Lahaina with modesl Joelle and Andrew and Mike’s assistant Rosanna and her fiance’ Jared.  Rosanna just got engaged so this was their legitimate engagement shoot so I’m going to start off the blog from Maui with them.  I already posted a few small images but the big ones are way more fun so I’m reposting some images!  They are seriously SUCH a great couple and so much fun to shoot.  Neither of them have bad angles and even their goofy looks are adorable on camera!  They are getting married in April and I can’t wait to see those images!!  Thanks for being such willing models!!

By far my favorite image from the session :)

I had the awesome opportunity to second shoot for the fabulous Brooke Mayo while I was on vacation in the Outer Banks.  I was super stoked since Brooke (as you should know by now) was my uber spectacular wedding photographer.  She is so much fun to shoot for/with!!!  It was a great way to spend my last day on the beach - and it got me away from the icky boys at our rental house!!!

Ian & Michelle were such a cute couple whom came down from Virginia to get married in the Outer Banks at The Sanderling hotel in Duck.  Ian’s son was the cutest thing since sliced bread.  I got to play with the guys while Brooke was with the ladies.  We ended up on the beach shooting some groom-als and while we were out there some dolphins came by to say hi!  Totally awesome!  Afterwards the beautiful ceremony took place on their beachfront deck and then after some fun portraits on the beach we headed over to the reception area across the street which is soundfront for some primo sunset action.  They were such a great couple!!  Thank you for letting me assist Brooke!!

He meant business!!!
