Married: Nooriya & Randy

Last Saturday was SUCH a great wedding! I love all of my clients but this one was one of those weddings that you come home from on a wedding high. It was worth driving through a monsoon for!!!

Nooriya and Randy booked me last year and I’ve been looking forward to their wedding for a long time. The ceremony was beautiful and tailored to them, starting with a Liturgy Dance and it also included a sand ceremony. After the ceremony they had a light reception for the guests while the receiving line was going on – which I really found to be not only YUMMY but also a great idea! We then stopped at Ely Square in Elyria before heading to the reception at DeLuca’s in the Park for some pictures. The reception was another amazing event, again tailored to perfectly suit the couple. They started off with the first dance and cake cutting and after dinner danced with their parents and had a dance in honor of Michael Jackson before opening up the floor to open dancing which included some awesome moves from darn near every guest that attended. Sometimes receptions can hit a lull where it’s not always easy to find the kodak moments but this event was literally bursting with them! I had such a great time!

Thanks to you both for choosing me to capture your day!! Also thanks to Nicole for assisting me!

LOVE this groomsman shot, these guys were so much fun to work with!

This is a great example of my method of “posing” – I put my couples together and just capture the moments that naturally happen. Makes my job easy when they are this sweet and tender together!

Having such stunning brides doesn’t hurt either, isn’t she so pretty???

Randy was pretty handsome himself too!!

One of my favorite first dance shots!

Randy’s brother giving him some riff during his toast!

Randy sweating over thinking what else was going to come out of his brother’s mouth!

One of the Maids of Honor dancing in honor of Michael Jackson.

Always gotta have a ring shot!

…or two!!!

Brides Talk: Amber

Amber and I have known each other for years online through an online journal. She’s been with me really since the beginning and was one of the people that urged me to make a living with my photography and get away from the medical field that I loathed. She was one of the first to book me and I was honestly terrified since I knew her expectations were high. However at the end of the day I knew I had some great images and Amber was thrilled! Her ceremony was in SUCH a gorgeous location – a butterfly garden – that it was hard to NOT get a beautiful shot. Here is their original blog.

Thanks again to Amber for having such faith in me!!!

Amber Talks

I met Corey through a blog years ago when we both discovered we lived in Ohio. When I got engaged and seen some photographs of the very first wedding she ever did, I knew that she was the photographer that I just had to have! Every time she would post pictures from a wedding or some trip she took, I was just in awe of how beautiful they were. Corey was amazing and very easy to work with during the planning process. Andrew and I had been planning an outdoor wedding for months and what would you know, it decided that it was going to rain on our special day. I wasn’t going to let a little rain ruin my wedding day! Corey arrived early to catch all of the wonderful shots of the bridal party getting ready before the ceremony. She helped with little details that needed finished and was assertive enough to help gather the wedding party when they weren’t following instructions. She was there when I tried not to have a melt down when I first saw my groom and realized the tux’s weren’t right and one of the groomsman’s tux was different than everyone elses. When it was time to start taking pictures before the wedding, the sun had came out allowing use to have the most beautiful wedding we could have asked for. Everything was perfect. Corey was very receptive to shots that were requested. During the ceremony we never saw her catching what would turn out to be the best photographs that would eventually make me cry, they were that good. Everytime I look at the pictures that now hang on our living room wall, I am reminded of what a wonderful wedding we were blessed to have; all the fun moments we had with our friends, how cute our flower girls were, and how lucky we are to have amazing friends and family.

Corey is by far one of the best photographers in the area. Her photographs are priceless. She is a photographer that we will always go to when we need those special moments caught on film. Not only is she a great photographer, she is a great friend that I have gained. She is truly the best and I recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer.

First Annual Album Giveaway!

I know that recently there has been a lot of giveaways by photographers. I want to do one for future brides as well but I don’t want to follow the leader either. I’m still brainstorming on that one – expect something to drop in the near future. However I do know that I owe SO much to my couples from 2008 for being so wonderfully amazing and for referring me to their friends and family. My choice for my first giveaway was easy – I am going to give away a free wedding album to a past couple of mine from 2008! The album will be a KISS album since I’d love to throw kisses to all of them for being so fabulous!!! This is also a way of introducing the amazing KISS line to my album offerings! They are simply GORGEOUS albums with amazing leather covers and amazingly stunning pages. They are made in the USA which makes this photographer happy because not only am I supporting jobs in the US but they are super duper QUICK on turnaround time – 15 DAYS!! I could go on and rave about the album and the super awesome people behind it but I think that you get that I completely adore this company. You will too!

Here are the details on the giveaway:

What will you win? A 25 page 10×10 KISS album in your choice of color with up to 3 revisions on layout. Images are the couples choice.

Hawaii Day Three: Rosanna and Jared

The final day of shooting was done with Rosanna and Jared in Kapalua near the Four Seasons hotel. We started up a bit from the beach on a hill with a field and trees and then ended up at sunset on the beach. This was by far my favorite of the three sessions! Again, a million thanks to Rosanna and Jared (are they not the most adorable couple), to Mike Colon for being such a wonderful teacher and the rest of the class for being there with me!

I believe Jared had licked her cheek!

Not the best technically but the sequence made me giggle, wonder what she told him???

This shot of Rosanna and Jared in the field won me one of the top pic choices of the day of the class! Scarlett Lillian won but gave up her spot since she’d won already (aww) so this is technically the runner up but it still made me giddy!

The other choice for the top pic after Scarlett’s two and the other one above! Made for a great ending to my week!

I love the look of this shot, reminds me of a cologne ad.

Shot with Mike Adrian’s one-light setup with pocket wizards.

Shot with onboard flash unit using settings that Mike Colon taught me while others were taking their turns with the off camera lighting setup. I really love this shot, probably due to the moon! I have a thing with moon shots over the ocean…
